Long-eared Owl
Asio otus
Long ear tufts and orange-yellow eyes give the long-eared owl an unmistakable look, though the “ears” are merely tufts of feathers that it can also lay flat. It builds no nest of its own, usually breeding in old nests of crows, magpies or birds of prey.
