Damon Blue
Polyommatus damon
It owes its German name to the distinct white streak on the grey-brown underside of the hindwings, which makes it unmistakable in Germany. Males are a shining turquoise blue above with a dark border, females plain dark brown.

- Dry, grassy open ground, scrub and light woodland with stands of sainfoin, mainly in hilly and mountainous areas; only locally distributed in Central Europe.

- One generation a year, flying roughly from July to August.
